CDCA Versatility ProgramsThe CDCA Versatility Program recognizes Canaan Dogs that excel in many types of competition, including Conformation, Obedience, Tracking, Herding, and Agility. Versatility Award Requirements (Revised May 2006)Open to Canaan Dog Club of America members and AKC registered Canaan Dogs. To be eligible for the Award, the Canaan Dog must be OFA certified with an OFA rating of “Fair” or better, or have PennHip clearances, or have proof of spay/neuter. The CDCA Versatility Program recognizes five (5) areas in which titles may be earned:
AKC and CDCA titles are eligible, including CDCA-HC, CDCA-HCX, and CDCA-PN. The CGC certificate is no longer recognized for the CDCA Versatility Program, but is still strongly endorsed and encouraged by the Canaan Dog Club of America as a worthy achievement for a nice doggie. Versatility Award (V) will be given to Canaan Dogs that have earned four (4) titles from a minimum of three (3) areas. Versatility Excellent Award (VX) will be given to Canaan Dogs that have earned nine (9) titles from a minimum of four (4) areas, including at least two (2) titles at an Open/Intermediate titling level (Open Obedience, Advanced Rally, Open Agility, Herding Intermediate, Tracking Excellent). For more information on the CDCA Versatility Programs, please contact Denise Gordon.
CDCA Pre-AKC Versatility ProgramThe purpose of the pre-AKC Recognition V/VX awards is to honor those dogs that are deceased or no longer able to compete in AKC Events due to their age.

The five (5) areas are Conformation, Obedience, Herding, Tracking and Agility. Conformation Championships must be either CCA/CDCA, UKC, SKC or ARBA and earned prior to August 12, 1997.
