1998 CDCA National Specialty

The Canaan Dog National Specialty was held in Tucson, AZ on November 13, 1998, in conjunction with three All-Breed AKC shows that weekend. The AKC shows included Agility and Obedience events on Saturday and Sunday.

Judges for the Specialty were Carol Kriesel for Sweepstakes/Futurity, Richard Mysliwiec, SR, for Junior Showmanship, and Kenneth Henrichson for Breed judging. Show Chair: Marge Rinehart. Co-Chair: Barbara Burr. Trophy Chair: Marge Rinehart.

There were over 50 entries for the Specialty. Many Canaani also competed in the AKC All-Breed shows, including Catalina's Felix to the Max who took Herding Group I on Saturday and Sunday and Herding Group IV on Monday. Fuligin Ged Tycho earned leg towards his C.D. with a fifth-place score of 189.5 in Novice A Obedience on Sunday. Noelle Renteria, handling Pleasant Hill Tahoe Mist, CD, was best Junior Handler at the Specialty, and best Novice Junior on both Saturday and Sunday.
