We supported the entry of CDs at the Collie Club of Colorado's All Breed Obedience and Rally Trial (Friday, June 3, 2011).

Highest Scoring Canaan Dog in Regular Classes - and new Companion Dog title: Risa Baumrind's Mazel Tov Erv Shel Shoshnim RA, CD, CDCA-HCX

Congrats also to Donna Davison & Caleb who earned a 3rd place/1st leg on his Rally Advanced title.

Genny Landis' littermates Ricky (1st leg) and Chrissie (2nd leg) also earned Rally Novice legs.

Della, Taavi and Yomi were also entered in the trial - unfortunately I had to go pick up folks at the hotel (judges who had come to our judges education seminars and wanted to watch the breed judging) before I got to see them in the ring and so do not have full results.

The Herding Instinct tests will be held at Valdemar Farms in Fort Lupon, CO.

The address is:
Valdemar Farms
14741 Weld County Road 10
Fort Lupton, CO 80621

Which is about 25 miles (45 minutes) from the host hotel.

Our evaluator will be Cathy Balliu, an AHBA/AKC herding judge. Cathy uses goats instead of sheep for instinct tests, so that will be a fun change for all.

Here's a fun blog about a herding instinct test at Valdemar Farms, complete with videos.

Time and resources allowing, signups will also be accepted the day of the test. If you have questions about the instinct test, please contact Denise Gordon.

Cathy has a limited stock, so priority goes to dogs going up for their HC and HCX.

There will be a port-a-john. We're not clear on how much shade is available; we'll try to provide at least a couple of shade tents. Drinks will be provided, but you may want to bring extra, as well as food for yourselves (and your dogs).
