The Herding Instinct tests will be held at Valdemar Farms in Fort Lupon, CO.
Which is about 25 miles (45 minutes) from the host hotel.
Our evaluator will be Cathy Balliu, an AHBA/AKC herding judge. Cathy uses goats instead of sheep for instinct tests, so that will be a fun change for all.
Here's a fun blog about a herding instinct test at Valdemar Farms, complete with videos.
Time and resources allowing, signups will also be accepted the day of the test. If you have questions about the instinct test, please contact Denise Gordon.
Cathy has a limited stock, so priority goes to dogs going up for their HC and HCX.
There will be a port-a-john. We're not clear on how much shade is available; we'll try to provide at least a couple of shade tents. Drinks will be provided, but you may want to bring extra, as well as food for yourselves (and your dogs).
Download the herding instinct test pre-entry form, print it out, complete it, and send it in before the May 20, 2011 deadline.
Motels Near Herding - Following is information on local accommodations, for those who prefer to switch accommodations prior to herding. We can't vouch for accuracy of the following, so please check for current information and policies.
