This site is especially suited to the needs of dog clubs. Many breeds have also utilized this facility with outstanding recommendations. The Belgium Sheepdog Club will be hosting their specialty concurrently with the CDCA.

When reserving rooms identify yourself with the CDCA to get the group rate of $109. RV parking on site is available for $25 with no hookups.

The Host hotel has donated a standard room for us to raffle off. In Wisconsin raffle is defined differently by law. The raffle will go as follows. You may purchase a tennis ball by sending a check for $25. Your name will be written on a ball and on March 29th we will dump the purchased balls on the floor. CH Cherrysh Midnite at the Oasis aka Jake will fetch the winning ball. Members of the Midwest Canaan Dog Club will over see this. Each ball that has been purchased will be given to each participant at the Specialty. This is required by Wisconsin law. Pre-entries will be tested before any day-of-test entries
No Canaan Dogs younger than 6 months of age will be tested
Bitches in season may participate, but will be tested last

All Canaan Dogs without prior livestock herding experience entered in the test will be eligible for the Best Rookie Herding Potential Award

Canaan Dogs with prior livestock herding experience entered in the test will be eligible for the Best Experienced Herding Canaan Award

Dear Club Member and Canaan Dog friend,

It's time to start getting ready for the 2009 national specialty and the first step on the path to the specialty is to consider a donation to the trophy fund. You can sponsor a specific trophy in honor or memory of your best friend or you can donate to the general trophy and rosette fund. Below is a list of the trophies. Please send me your name exactly as you would like it to appear with a list of the trophies you would like to sponsor or send me an email listing which you would like and how you would like it listed in the catalog. The trophies for this year's national specialty will be various ceramic pieces with a Canaan Dog Specialty Logo and 24KT gold edging made by me. Some trophies have already been spoken for and I listed those after the trophy.
