CDCA Sponsored Programs

The CDCA sponsors a number of programs to get Canaan Dogs into good homes and to recognize the accomplishments of those Canaan Dogs and their owners.

The programs include the following:

Breeder Referral
If you are in the market for a Canaan Dog puppy or would like to become a CDCA Canaan Dog breeder, please contact CDCA Breeder Referral for more information.
Meet and Greet List
For persons that are either not qualified at this time or choose not to be on the CDCA Breeders' List but would like to be available to educate potential owners about the ups and downs of Canaan Dog ownership. They are willing to make their home and dog(s) available for visits, so that people can meet Canaan Dogs in the “fur”.
Top Performance Awards
The Top Performance Awards were implemented to recognize the achievements of the performance Canaan Dog and its owner/handler.
Versatility Awards
The CDCA Versatility Program recognizes Canaan Dogs that excel in many types of competition, including Conformation, Obedience, Tracking, Herding, and Agility.
Register of Merit
The Register of Merit program recognizes Canaan Dogs who have produced outstanding offspring.
Member and Dog of the Year
The Dog of the Year (DOTY) award is meant to recognize the achievements of a Canaan Dog that exemplifies the best of our breed to the Canaan Dog community and/or the general community of pure-bred dog fanciers, or the world at large.
Herding Certification
The Herding Certification program recognizes Canaan Dogs which pass a Herding Instinct Evaluation.
